Victory Sports Network NAIA Football Top 25 Ranking (9/16/24)

The Victory Sports Network has released their second regular season NAIA Football rating of the 2024 season. The rating marks the 22nd year of VSN releasing a Top 25 ranking for NAIA Football. Defending national champion Keiser University holds onto the top spot while No. 2 Northwestern also remains steady.

Previous No. 3 College of Idaho’s loss to previous No. 5 Montana Western starts the reorganization of the Top 25 which saw seven teams lose games this week. Grand View moves up to No. 3 on the strength of their win over No. 14 Benedictine while Montana Western moves up to No. 4. COI drops to No. 7 with the loss.

St. Thomas (Fla.) jumps nine spots to No. 6 after their win on the road over MSFA leader Saint Xavier. The Cougars fall to No. 10 in the ranking. Southeastern (Fla.) enters the Top 25 this week tied with Lindsey Wilson.

  1. The team they beat is not very good. They could’ve won by 140 and I still would not have been impressed. I’ll be more impressed with a road victory this week against OPSU. That’s a tough team and a tough place to play.

  3. Morningside got beat by Benedictine. Why with equal records does Morningside rank higher. Benedictine lost to Grand View, tough team. Just asking. Morningside’s got a cupcake schedule until end of October. Then 2024 comes crashing down with Dordt and Northeastern, back to back. I could be wrong but I watched the Midland game, 7 point win. Keep an eye on this team. An upset loss will end their playoff hopes.
