Internships
The Victory Sports Network™ offers a fully qualified intern/extern program to any student attending one of the colleges or universities on our network. The intern program is available for 0 to 9 credits in the following areas: marketing/public relations, columnist and broadcaster.
Opportunities
- Gain real world experience in the areas of writing/broadcasting/marketing/public relations (intern/externship opportunities below)
- Get exposure to an online audience
- Get feedback on your writing from fans and your internship coordinator
Qualifications
- Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student with a passion for college sports (journalism/broadcast experience is a plus)
- Must have online research experience
- Strong oral, written, communication and proofreading skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work and prioritize work assignments
- Must be responsible and professional
Program
- Academic credit from your college or university through work experience
- Minimum of 6 hours per week for the semester with an option to extend
- Complete your requirements from your college campus

- Write, edit and format copy for internet publication at a minimum of one blog post/wk (300 word minimum)
- Begin two discussions (3-5 sentences) a week on the VSN Message Boards
- Promote the VSN Facebook group page for to drive traffic to the VSN website and facebook page.
- Serve as a point-of-contact with alumni chapter presidents to promote VSN
- Develop and implement creative marketing strategies to promote VSN and your fellow intern’s writing.
- Prioritize work assignments
- Complete and submit a weekly recap form to highlight your efforts and accomplishments
- Other duties as assigned

- Write a weekly in-depth column of your choice. (600 words)
- Add 3-5 photos from college sporting events.
- Recruit readers to your posts through self promotion
- Research events and event schedules for all collegiate sports
- Show creativity in developing ideas and assisting in coverage of college sports
- Responsible for breaking news and team information
- Secondary duties: assist marketing interns in maintaining VSN Facebook group page
- Complete and submit a weekly recap form to highlight your efforts and accomplishments
- Other duties as assigned

- 2-3 video posts per week from your academic institution’s athletic events
- Produce multimedia video and audio highlights for internet use
- Research support for game and event video and interviews
- Production support (screening, logging, dubbing) for game/feature production and studio shows
- Assist with production assignment schedule
- Provide your own video equipment
- Complete and submit a weekly recap form to highlight your efforts and accomplishments
- Other duties as assigned
