Indiana Wesleyan Defeats Georgetown (Ky.) in Sioux City Clash

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – [BOX SCORE] In a decisive matchup in Sioux City, Iowa, Indiana Wesleyan’s women’s basketball team showcased their prowess with a commanding 74-57 victory over Georgetown (Ky.). This win further cements Indiana Wesleyan’s impressive season record at 32-2, while Georgetown falls to 22-9.

From the onset, Indiana Wesleyan controlled the game, leading 18-11 by the end of the first quarter and maintaining their momentum throughout the match. The Wildcats displayed a balanced offensive attack and strong defensive play, reflected in their superior shooting percentages across the board. Indiana Wesleyan shot an impressive 47.4% from the field, compared to Georgetown’s 39.0%.

Lilli Frasure emerged as a standout performer for Indiana Wesleyan, scoring 22 points with a solid 9-16 shooting performance, complemented by seven rebounds and four assists. Taylor Folkema also contributed significantly, with a perfect 6-6 shooting from the field and adding 19 points to the scoreboard.

The Tigers struggled to find their rhythm offensively, particularly from beyond the arc, where they managed only 20.0% shooting. Their leading scorers, Trinity Klock and Izzy Lamparty, each contributed 10 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Wildcats’ dominance.

Rebounding was another area where Indiana Wesleyan excelled, securing a 40-27 advantage over Georgetown. Maddie Lawrence was pivotal in this aspect, collecting nine rebounds alongside her nine points.

Indiana Wesleyan advances to the quarterfinals for the ninth time and will face the winner of Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) vs Indiana Tech on Saturday, March 22.
