KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kailen Hamson, a left-handed hurler and senior from Cumberlands (Ky.) is the NAIA Pitcher of the Week, and Jace Parnin, a junior utility player for Shawnee State (Ohio) is the NAIA Player of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from April 21-27 out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees.
Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram and Twitter. This week’s awards are the final weekly awards of the 2025 season.

NAIA Baseball Player of the Week
Jace Parnin, Shawnee State (Ohio) – JR – Utility
- Batted 1.000 in a 3-0 week for Shawnee State – a perfect 10-for-10 at the plate with a 2.900 OPS.
- Drove in seven runs on five extra-base hits, three doubles and a pair of home runs. Both doubles came in game one of the three-game series.
- Scored nine times, including four runs in a 4-for-4 series finale with a home run.
- Both home runs came in Saturday’s doubleheader, as the bears swept Rio Grande (Ohio) to get to 27-14 on the year.
NAIA Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Kailen Hamson, Cumberlands (Ky.) – SR – LHP
- Improved to 10-0 on the season with a seven-inning, one hit outing to beat Cumberland (Tenn.) 1-0.
- Struck out nine in the win over the Phoenix.
- Retired 20 consecutive batters in the game, posting a .048 opponents’ batting average.
- Hamson’s win was Cumberlands’ 41st of the season, as the Patriots are 41-8.
