The Raiders Set to Play for NAIA Softball National Championship Against Oklahoma City

Share

COLUMBUS, Ga. – [Bracket | Schedule | Watch] Southern Oregon University defeated Cascade Collegiate Conference foe Eastern Oregon University in five innings 8-0 for a chance at claiming the 2025 NAIA Softball World Series National Title. The Raiders (53-9) advance to face Oklahoma City in game 18 while Eastern Oregon closes the book on the 2025 season at 38-11.

SOU’s offense was in full force, led by standout performances from Sarah Kerling and Samantha Pemberton. Kerling went 3-for-4 at the plate, driving in two runs and scoring twice, while Pemberton delivered a crucial two-run homer in the third inning. The Raiders capitalized on EOU’s errors, converting defensive lapses into scoring opportunities.

The Mountaineers struggled to find their rhythm offensively. Despite Raygun Klippert’s two hits, the Mountaineers were unable to convert their five total hits into runs, stranding five runners on the base path.

On the mound, Southern Oregon’s Ayla Davies was exceptional, pitching a complete game shutout over five innings. Davies allowed just five hits and struck out seven batters without issuing a walk, securing her 36th win of the season.

Eastern Oregon’s Kylie Parsons took the loss, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits over three innings. Relief pitchers Taylor Brewer and Macao Jackson were unable to quiet the Raiders’ bats, conceding a combined five runs.

The 2025 NAIA Softball World Series Championship game is now set and will get underway at 3 p.m. ET as Oklahoma City looks to get the job done and secure its 12th title in program history; the Raiders will look to force a game 19 (if necessary) tomorrow to travel home with the program’s fourth national championship.
