KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The second-round schedule is set in the NAIA Football Championship Series, as four teams – No. 16 Saint Francis (Ind.), No. 15 Southeastern (Fla.), No. 13 William Penn (Iowa), and No. 14 Carroll (Mont.) – won first-round games, joining the top 12 seeds in the NAIA postseason for eight games following the Thanksgiving holiday, on Nov. 29.
In Saturday’s first round, Nov. 22, two games came down to one play in the fourth quarter. Southeastern made a stop on a two-point conversion to beat Reinhardt (Ga.) 24-22, and Saint Francis (Ind.) survived as Evangel (Mo.) missed a field goal as time expired. William Penn led wire-to-wire in its win over Texas Wesleyan, and Carroll pulled away from St. Thomas (Fla.), late.
