This morning I remember the late VSN member Go See Cal, aka Dennis Gaines, a stalwart Biola fan and administrator at Biola's Talbot School of Theology.

Why?  Because John Thune, Biola grad ('83) and Biola Basketball alumni, was elected Senate Majority Leader.

I would have seen him play as it was my first year at Westmont, and I remember when he became a politician because his name seemed familiar. Someone else reminded me years later why it was familiar.  Thune wasn't a starter but he played in 24 games, averaging just 2.6 points per game.  But I was a rabid fan and went to both home and away Biola games.

BTW, Westmont won both game, at Biola 67-46, and later at Murchison 70-57.
