LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern University Head Football Coach Adam Waugh hired Khalil Pope as the new wide receivers coach.
Pope comes to SEU from his alma mater of Faulkner University where he served as co-offensive coordinator and running backs coach, and has also served as special teams coordinator, an analyst, and with athletic recruitment and admissions.
“I am very excited about the addition of Khalil Pope to our coaching staff,” said Waugh. “He is a dynamic young coach that brings a contagious enthusiasm and work ethic to our program. He has a strong track record at a number of schools in addition to extensive recruiting ties in the Southeast. He blew us away during the interview process, and I am confident that he will be an excellent mentor for the young men in our program.”
Prior to Faulkner, Pope worked with Belhaven University coaching running backs and specialists and did the same at East Central Community College. Pope also worked at the University of Southern Mississippi as a quality control coach, helping the team to the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl.
